Definitions
- Cropping Intensity Index - it refers to the changes in the cropping intensity of crops compared to a given base year. Cropping Intensity is the number of times a crop is planted per year in a given agricultural area. It is the ratio of effective crop area harvested to the physical area.
- Area Harvested - it refers to the actual area from which harvests are realiased. This excludes crop areas which were totally damaged. It may be smaller than the area planted. In crop statistics, this applies to temporary crops.
