Variables:

National Marketing Year (NMY) (number) - starts with the harvest of the main crop in a given year N (e.g. 2017) and ends just before the next harvest begins in the year
International Trade Year (ITY) (number) - a common timeline across countries which is calculated using January/December over the second year shown
Total Supply (number) - refers to total supply of a country from a given NMY
Opening Stocks/Closing Stocks (number) - Stocks include stocks in all positions, thus those held by the government as well as inventories owned by other agents, including farmers, households, commercial enterprises and elevators.
Production (number) - the amount of a harvested crop taken out of the fields to the primary collection points, either a warehouse or farm backyard. Production data are reported in terms of clean, dry weight of grains (12-14 percent moisture) in the form usually marketed
Imports (number) - volumes of imports or exports granted on concessional terms
Total Utilization (number) - refers to total utilization a country from a given NMY
Domestic Utilization (number) - refers to utilization totaling in food, feeds, and other uses
Food Use (number) - refers to direct human consumption of all population groups during the reference period, irrespective of whether the commodity is eaten in its raw form or processed
Feed Use (number) - refers to the quantities fed to livestock
Other Uses (number) - which cover mainly seed, industrial uses and post-harvest losses.
Exports (number) - volumes of exports granted on concessional terms
Per Capita Food Use (number) - which reflects the food use per individual member of the population
Area Harvested - which refers to the area that is actually harvested. Harvested area can diverge substantially from the planted area, especially when the country is hit by floods, drought or other strong climatic event.
Production Paddy - refers to production in paddy form
Extraction Rate - used to convert paddy rice into milled rice equivalent
Yield - which refers to the quantity of whole grain obtained at harvest time per-unit of area harvested
